Privacy Policy

Built private
by design.

KinkCode deals with something genuinely personal. We built the entire system around one constraint: we cannot identify you, even if someone asked us to. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.

01

The short version

No accounts. No cookies. No email addresses. No real names. No IP addresses in readable form. No third-party trackers. No advertising networks. We collect anonymous aggregate data — counts and buckets — that tell us how the quiz is used, but nothing that could identify who used it.

If you take the quiz and close the tab, there is no record of you as a person anywhere in our system.

What we collect
Quiz completion count
Profile result (e.g. "Dominant")
Dimension scores (0–100 per category)
Demographic buckets you select from dropdowns (age range, country, experience level, whether you have taken a kink test before, and optionally gender and orientation)
Whether you chose the short or full quiz
Share link view counts
Anonymous funnel events (quiz started, completed, abandoned)
What we never collect
Your name or email address
Your IP address in readable form
Cookies of any kind
Browser fingerprint or device ID
Your precise location
Payment information
Any data that could identify a specific person

02

How our analytics work

We built our own analytics system rather than using Google Analytics or any third-party tracker. Here's what happens when you complete the quiz:

IP address
Your IP is immediately converted to a SHA-256 hash — a one-way mathematical transformation. The original IP is discarded. The hash also includes the current date, which means it changes every 24 hours. This makes it impossible to track the same person across days, and impossible to reverse-engineer the original IP.
Demographic data
Gender and orientation are always optional, and skipping them changes nothing about your results. Age range, country, experience level, and whether you have taken a kink test before are asked before results are shown. Each field is a dropdown with fixed options, so we store the bucket you selected ("25–34", "United States"), never freeform text.
Scores
Your 10 dimension scores are stored as numbers (0–100). They are not linked to any identifier. We use these to understand aggregate patterns across all users — not to profile individuals.
Share links
When you copy a share link, a random 6-character code is generated and stored with your scores and selected demographic buckets. No name or identifier is attached to this code. Links expire after 12 months. View counts are tracked per link, not per viewer.
No cookies
We set no cookies. There is no tracking pixel, session cookie, or persistent identifier of any kind placed on your device.

We built our own analytics for this reason. Google Analytics works by sending your behaviour data to Google's servers — including your IP, browser fingerprint, and browsing history across sites. For a quiz about sexual desire, that tradeoff is unacceptable. Our analytics run entirely on our own server. Nothing leaves it.

03

Third parties

We use a small number of external services. None of them receive personal data about you.

Google Fonts
Playfair Display and DM Sans are self-hosted on our servers. The font files are served directly from knowyourkinkcode.com — no request is made to Google's servers, and no data about your visit is sent to Google as a result of loading fonts.
Verpex Hosting
Our site is hosted on Verpex servers. Standard server logs (including IP addresses) may be created by the hosting infrastructure. These are subject to Verpex's own data retention policies and are not accessible to us in a way that connects to quiz data.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to understand which search queries lead people to KinkCode. This tool operates entirely on Google's side — no script is loaded on your device, no data about you is sent to Google when you visit this site.
Advertising
None. We do not serve ads, use advertising networks, or sell data to any third party. We have no commercial relationship with any data broker.

04

Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar frameworks, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Here is the honest situation:

We cannot identify your data. There is no account, no email, no name, and no persistent identifier connecting you to any record in our system. If you ask us to delete your data, we have no way to find it — not because we're being evasive, but because we deliberately built the system so that we couldn't.

This is a feature, not a limitation. The inability to identify you is the privacy guarantee.

If you created a share or invite link and want it removed, you can contact us with the link code (the 6-character string at the end of the URL). We can delete that specific record. That's the only case where we can act on a specific piece of data, because you hold the code.

05

Data retention

Completion records
Retained for 365 days, then automatically purged by our nightly cron job.
Share / invite links
Retained for 12 months from creation date. After expiry the link stops working and the record is deleted.
Event logs
Anonymous funnel events (started, completed, abandoned) are retained for 90 days then purged.
Aggregate rollups
Hourly and daily aggregate counts (total completions by hour, demographic distribution) are retained indefinitely. These contain no individual records — only counts.

06

A note on sensitive subject matter

We are aware that sexual preference and desire are among the most sensitive categories of personal data recognised by privacy law. We took this seriously when designing the system.

The architecture described above was not built to satisfy a compliance checkbox. It was built because this site should never be a liability for the people who use it. The day-rotating IP hash, the fixed demographic buckets, the absence of cookies — these are deliberate decisions made with that specific concern in mind.

We will not share, sell, subpoena-disclose, or otherwise expose user data. In the event of a legal request, there is genuinely nothing linkable to a specific person to produce.

07

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data in a material way, we will update this page and change the version number in the footer of the main site. We will not retroactively change how previously collected data is used.

The current version is v1.5.1, last updated May 2026.
